Merry Christmas!!

Well due to the rest of all y'alls families traveling all around the world, Ethan unfortunately has to be gone for Christmas. Don't worry though, we had a great Christmas last Thursday before he left Friday morning! We actually kind of did Christmas all week long, because Ethan said it didn't matter and he was just too excited to give me the presents he so painstakingly planned out! So early on in the week he had me open my new camera, which I used to take the pictures of our Christmas morning! He did such a good job, I loved everything! He was so excited "Christmas" morning though that we hardly even slept in! He was ready to go at 7:30am! I tried to go back to sleep but Ethan was so excited I gave in and got up.

I wasn't exactly thrilled to be awake...

Our little baby Christmas Tree! Ethan actually let me have a real one, although he did think I was a little obsessive about it!!

He bought me the cutest pea coat and the gray dress pants I've wanted forever!!
I gave him this coat early in the week so he could wear it before he left, he loved it!!
I bought him pj's so he doesn't get cold in his crash pad in New York! He was psyched!

We tried to take pictures of ourselves with the tree putting the new camera on the table...it doesn't focus well from across the room!! These were the best ones we got though! It was such a fun day and although Ethan's away for Christmas and New Year's, which makes me sad, I'm glad we got to celebrate in our own kind of way.

I'm Married!!

Well it's been 3 weeks now, but I'm married! I haven't gotten the pictures back from Angie, but they'll be coming this week, so I kifed a couple pictures off Martha's facebook page and am borrowing them til I get the real ones! Ethan brought me flowers when he came to pick me up to go to the Temple and he was just so cute!! It was such a pretty day too!

My best friends hanging out the night before!!

He's so handsome!

Needless to say everything has been just lovely since the wedding! We went down to Phoenix where it was warm for a couple days, came home and Ethan flew out a couple days later. He's been back and forth since then and even got to fly in for Thanksgiving yesterday!! He was on a layover on his way to Philadelphia so he flew out again this morning! When everything's a little bit more settled I'll get pictures of our apartment and everything else put up!!

Attempts at Parenthood...

While Melissa and Curry skipped off on a vacation/trip/awareness raising event back East (read the full story on Melissa's) a little while ago I had the find opportunity to hang out with their kids all day! Well, I guess just Asher, because once Jaman saw the bus he was more than ecstatic to leave me behind!! Ethan, very fortunately, had a day off so he came up that morning and helped me handle the little crazy all day!! We had all sorts of adventures, including weird looks from the Marriage License clerk when we took Asher in with us! It was lots of fun but I don't think we'll be ready for kids of our own for a long time!!

Ethan's attempt at parenthood...

My attempts at parenthood...I think I'll be doing our kids hair!

Lunch at McDonalds'...I don't think they'll let us take her again after that!!

Please note the food being spit out of her mouth...and onto my lap!!

Four girls, a Wedding Dress and a Camera

Sunday morning I was ripped brutally from my warm and cozy bed at a bright and early 7:30 am so that I could once again put on my wedding dress and smile like I meant it!! My mom and sisters had decided that since the leaves are changing up the canyons it was naturally the best time to take a few more pictures in a different locatin than my bridals from Angie (which I still don't have yet). So them in their winter coats and I in my short sleeves headed up the canyon for some fun. These pictures are all taken by Gent, so good job to her!

Ethan!

With everything being so busy lately it's hard to find time to do the things I love and just enjoy myself for a minute. So yesterday at work I decided I didn't need to spend as much time wasting my time and just hanging out on the internet doing nothing. I pulled out a handy piece of paper and my trusty ol' mechanical pencil (not ideal for this type of project) and took time to relax! Apparently my thoughts are never too far from what's going on in life so this is what came out!! I've got a few more project ideas now stemming from this and I can't wait to get started!! We'll just have to see when that actually happens!

The Latest and Greatest!

Apparently I'm not savvy enough to get the video link/function/thing working so I'm posting these pictures the old-fashioned way....one by one by one until you are all so sick of pictures you can't stand it anymore!!! We got our engagement pictures back from Angie last week (she's such a good photographer, I love it!) and we look ravishing so I thought I'd brag for a couple minutes about how they turned out! We've already picked our invitation photo out too!! That simplifies....pretty much nothing, but heck it's cute right?!

Just to be sappy and gross!

Isn't he just so cute?!

Life is a Countdown

My birthday is tomorrow. I'm officially leaving teenager-hood to become a bonified adult, just in time to get married. What differences there really will be I'm not sure. Essentially I plan to continue in my ways until the day I die so what does one more day mean, right? I'm still going to love Elvis more than anything, rock out to The Beatles and remember the most amazing night of my life was with Erin and Martha at the Beach Boys concert. I don't think those are childish at all, but hey, that's just me. I'm really not sad about turning 20 because honestly people, we all get older every year. It's the same story that never changes, days turn into weeks, that turn into months, that turn into years and yet people seem to forget this and always seem shocked that every day that passes means they are getting older. Stop freaking out people, everybody else in the world is getting old too. Think about it, we have birthdays until we die so at least you're not at that point yet! Party it up, play lots and laugh even more! Personally I plan on spending my birthday running around like a mad woman....yes, I guess I'm officially a "woman" now, yuck. Ethan will actually be in town, you're surprised I know (me too), so we get to take our engagement pictures. And fortunately for us we get to take them at 7:30 in the morning!! Lucky us. After that we get to run around looking for ties for the guys to wear at the reception. Wahoo for me. Then after all that running I get to ditch Eth and go to my bridal fitting!! I am actually rather excited because I absolutely LOVE my dress! After said fitting, I'll meet up with Ethan again and look for tuxes for him. So Happy 2oth to me.
On another countdown note however, there's only 49 days left until we get married!! It's totally insane! I know what you're thinking, barely over a month and you're just doing engagement pictures now?! Well, meet Kylar. I'm kind of a last minute-throw together-hope it turns out alright kind of person. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson after 20 years of projects gone wrong, or barely scraping by. However, I haven't. I'm fairly confident in this one though. I've got my mom to help and I'm pretty sure that's going to make the difference. Plus hi, everybody else that my mom has helping us plan everything, has done a million and one of these events. Soooo I'm fairly confident that everyone else knows what their doing!

Don't Worry, Be Happy

As I was doing my usual morning perusal of friend's and family's blogs I came upon a post by my sister-in-law Melissa. It was a website giving the number one songs on any given day in history. I subsequently looked up my birthday and discovered that the number one song on September 19, 1988 was "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin. I love that song and really needed to hear that. This simple phrase encompasses so much in 4 words and can brighten anyones day. I needed to be reminded of that and to remember that no matter what happens, don't worry, be happy. "That's the beauty of life," as my dad says, "it's always changing!" We can't control it, we can only deal with what we've been handed so no matter whatever is going on in your life, paint a smile on that face, buck up, as a certain song says, "Life's what you make it, so let's make it Rock!" and Don't Worry, Be Happy.

Slap a smile on!

I'M ENGAGED!!!

It's finally official!!! Last Tuesday, the 12th, Ethan popped the question!! It was totally cute!! He had just arrived in Salt Lake midnight Monday the day before but I didn't get to see him for very long. The 3rd season of Prison Break came out on DVD last Tuesday so after work I hurried down to Ethan's house so we could go to Wal*Mart and buy it. When we got back to his house we made taco's and watched the Olympics for a little while. We watched the first episode of Prison Break and then Ethan wanted to go on a drive. Salem has some very pretty places and views so we drove up to the golf course and were looking down over the valley and all the pretty lights. Ethan's really cute and had created a playlist of songs that we really like and we danced in the parking lot and when Love Me Tender by Elvis Presley came on...welp, he got down on his knee and that was that!! (anyone who knows me understands the song choice!) In keeping with me being a wacko I didn't even cry!! I just started jumping up and down!! Obviously I said yes in the midst of all this and then we drove back down to his house to talk to his parents!

Ethan's friend Natalie that he bought the ring from!
Right before driving back to his house! Not a very good picture, but there's a ring on there!
Also not a very good view but I tried!! It's a princess cut in a suspension band.
Look at how cute he is!!

Layovers!

This is a lot of pictures, but since I haven't updated for a while I figure I'm entitled to gush! A couple weeks ago Ethan had a 20 something or so layover in Salt Lake City and my boss, Jeannie (only the sweetest person ever) let me have the afternoon off to go play with him!! We went to the Gateway and saw tons of people from the American Idol tryouts and just interesting people in general! Then we went to dinner with Melissa, Curry and their kids. It was really fun to play with them! After we didn't know what else to do so we went up to the State Capital and took random pictures!! It was really fun!

Rawr!!

Peace and Love!

Just being dorks!

Us being dorks with the Buf-flag-o!!

Lazy Days of Summer!

With Ethan traveling all the time we don't get to do too many exciting things so when he does come home we jam pack as many things in as we can, even if its just going to Costco or the mall and walking around. Basically anything that makes it feel like it's just normal and he's not traveling around all the time.

Us at the Orem Owlz game!

You can actually see us without the glasses...Ethan can rock them, but me? Not so much!

This is one adventure that Ethan actually missed out on but it's all I talked about for a week! We had a kitten in our apartment! I don't know the whole story, Marissa found the kitten in out bathroom and when I got home from work I was super confused because pets are definitely not allowed in our apartment, but we kept it for a while! I think our other roommates brother Ty actually put the kitten in our apartment without telling us. He was just so cute! Marissa named him Ziggy and it fit him very well!!

He was soo playful, he rarely cuddled, but when he did it was so cute!
