Rambling...

Ethan only has one full week left at Delta and I thought I'd update everyone on what's going on! He's been doing really well in all of his classes and on his tests. Today he went on his second training flight which took him to Los Angeles. He got to work in first class on the way there and in business class on the return flight. It made him really tired but he said he enjoyed it alot! Here's a few pictures I have of my super cute boy!!

Hogle Zoo!

Eating chips at Los Hermanos!

We don't let him play with the camera too much...

We were sittin there waiting for the train to pass so we could cross the tracks and I just happened to have my camera!! Ethan was slightly annoyed...

College Girls!!

This semester is just Marissa and I at our apartment and we've both been really busy so we haven't been able to play a whole lot. Last night however we decided that we both desperately needed a change and we decided the Malt Shoppe was a good outlet! We ended up being in the Malt Shoppe for about 3 hours, just people watching, talking and having a grand time!! We stayed up so late we probably shouldn't have even bothered to go to bed, but about 5 am that's what we finally did, crash!! Then we woke up around 10:30 this morning and made waffles!! It's great fun playing with Marissa!! Here are some pictures from our previous adventures, I'll upload ones from our latest adventure when I get a hold of her camera!!

Graduation

Tis the season of the graduation. Included with the Spring college graduations, and all the high school graduations Ethan's graduation from the Delta Academy is fast approaching!! His graduation is June 11 in Atlanta, Georgia and I have a ticket to go, now we just have to figure out the whole flight detail thing. With graduation comes the end of training and that makes me soo very happy! He could be going straight to New York for orientation for a couple days and I sincerely hope he doesn't, I just want to see him! I talk to him on the phone but that's not the same because he's been in class all day, everyday and he's tired. Still, I'll take what I can get for now!! At least he's having fun and enjoying it. He went on his first training flight last Saturday to Florida for his oral exam and tomorrow he gets to fly Los Angeles for another training flight. I don't like it when he goes on the flights because then he can't call me during the day, its not that I'm paranoid but planes crash too and you never know what could happen. I'm very excited and I think I can live through this next week because then it will be over!!!

The Joys of Cleaning

I know it's usually a pain in the everyday, but I've gotta say that sometimes I really do enjoy cleaning!! I was just cleaning my room as my roommate and her....we'll just call him her "very attentive special friend" for now, anyway, as they were making cookies I was cleaning and going through little sticky notes and scraps of paper I am continually finding all over the place with notes to myself on them. I came across one that made me laugh. I have a really annoying habit of writing myself schedules to follow for a day or lists of things to do, and although in theory its a good idea, I sometimes have a hard time following them. I blame this habit on Gentry, my older sister that I always wanted to be just exactly like in every little way! I used to watch her write herself lists of things to do in church when she was in high school. Me being the copycat I am naturally started doing the same and have continued to this day. This list/schedule made me laugh though because it was soo detailed!! Look at this and then tell me I'm not crazy!!

Wednesday October 3
8-12 pm : Class
12:30-1:30 : HFL Test
2-3:30 : Job Interview
4-4:30 : Workout
4:40-5:15 : Shower/get ready
5:15-6:15 : Homework
6:15-7:45 : Joes'/Home
8-10 : Homework
10:30-11:30 : Wal*Mart
Bed

I'm not sure if I even got all of that in, but heck, I knew where I thought I'd be at all times!! Sometimes I think I'm a little too meticulous for my own good!

Bag, Purse or Murse?

We've all seen the guy walking down the street with the bag slung over his shoulder and thought..."Man purse" If you're like me you often wonder what would compel a man to actually carry a purse and hope they soon realize they shouldn't and immediately dump the thing in the nearest trash can. I've since had to change my opinion of the man purse (or often cleverly combined to be called a Murse) because Ethan just bought one. He assures me it is not a purse, it is a 'bag.' I however have a tendency to disagree and continue to call it a man purse. Now this wasn't a compulsive purchase mind you, they got their manuals for flight attendants this week and apparently its entirely too huge to just carry around (which I can believe). He and those at the academy with him continue to hold on the name man bag, but I'll let you decide. Here's the picture his roommate e-mailed me.

Little things to tide me over

This morning I was woken up at 6:30 to the sound of "Would You Go With Me" by Josh Turner playing on my phone. Yep, that's right, Ethan was calling!! I get so excited I don't mind waking up earlier than I need to. Today he was starting his orientation and classes at 9am Georgia time (whatever timezone they happen to be in) and he was just waiting for the shuttle to take him. While he was waiting in the lobby he hopped on the computer and sent me a little e-mail just to say hi! I was so excited when I checked my e-mail and it was there! It's the little things like that that are going to get me through this!

Today is only day two of Ethan being gone and so far the days go by fast, but the nights kind of drag. Or at least it did last night, hopefully tonight will go by a little faster. I've been coming up with projects to do while Ethan's gone so I don't get too bored. So far I've come up with sewing more skirts and dresses, going through and organizing all my pictures, cross-stitching, running...alot, and at least for tonight I'm making a countdown chain until he comes home! I think I'll be able to keep relatively busy. In the meantime I've spent a few hours online looking at where he'll be staying. It's the Westin Atlanta Airport hotel and he's supposed to have a roommate, but as of this morning no one has showed! Here's a few pictures:

He'll have two beds in his room but I couldn't find that picture again...

I don't think he'll really be suffering through the next few weeks. It's a really nice place!

Just the beginning!

I decided now would be a good time to start our blog because Ethan is going to be gone for the next 6 weeks and I won't have that much to do! A little bit about us: Ethan is from Utah but spent a few years in Hawai'i when he was younger, he served his mission in Paris, France and would go back in a heartbeat! I've grown up in Utah my whole life and have enjoyed every minute of it. We met at work and started dating shortly after. Yes, ironically both of us have the last name of Jones. (That'll make it convenient once the wedding comes!)

Ethan just got hired as a flight attendant working for Delta Airlines and leaves early in the morning for his six week (i know its long!) training in Atlanta, Georgia and then we'll see where he goes from there! While he's out having fun I'll be here working full time this summer. It was really hard to say goodbye to him but six weeks should go by fairly fast! (I'm hoping!)
