Don't Worry, Be Happy

As I was doing my usual morning perusal of friend's and family's blogs I came upon a post by my sister-in-law Melissa. It was a website giving the number one songs on any given day in history. I subsequently looked up my birthday and discovered that the number one song on September 19, 1988 was "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin. I love that song and really needed to hear that. This simple phrase encompasses so much in 4 words and can brighten anyones day. I needed to be reminded of that and to remember that no matter what happens, don't worry, be happy. "That's the beauty of life," as my dad says, "it's always changing!" We can't control it, we can only deal with what we've been handed so no matter whatever is going on in your life, paint a smile on that face, buck up, as a certain song says, "Life's what you make it, so let's make it Rock!" and Don't Worry, Be Happy.

Slap a smile on!

I'M ENGAGED!!!

It's finally official!!! Last Tuesday, the 12th, Ethan popped the question!! It was totally cute!! He had just arrived in Salt Lake midnight Monday the day before but I didn't get to see him for very long. The 3rd season of Prison Break came out on DVD last Tuesday so after work I hurried down to Ethan's house so we could go to Wal*Mart and buy it. When we got back to his house we made taco's and watched the Olympics for a little while. We watched the first episode of Prison Break and then Ethan wanted to go on a drive. Salem has some very pretty places and views so we drove up to the golf course and were looking down over the valley and all the pretty lights. Ethan's really cute and had created a playlist of songs that we really like and we danced in the parking lot and when Love Me Tender by Elvis Presley came on...welp, he got down on his knee and that was that!! (anyone who knows me understands the song choice!) In keeping with me being a wacko I didn't even cry!! I just started jumping up and down!! Obviously I said yes in the midst of all this and then we drove back down to his house to talk to his parents!

Ethan's friend Natalie that he bought the ring from!
Right before driving back to his house! Not a very good picture, but there's a ring on there!
Also not a very good view but I tried!! It's a princess cut in a suspension band.
Look at how cute he is!!

Layovers!

This is a lot of pictures, but since I haven't updated for a while I figure I'm entitled to gush! A couple weeks ago Ethan had a 20 something or so layover in Salt Lake City and my boss, Jeannie (only the sweetest person ever) let me have the afternoon off to go play with him!! We went to the Gateway and saw tons of people from the American Idol tryouts and just interesting people in general! Then we went to dinner with Melissa, Curry and their kids. It was really fun to play with them! After we didn't know what else to do so we went up to the State Capital and took random pictures!! It was really fun!

Rawr!!

Peace and Love!

Just being dorks!

Us being dorks with the Buf-flag-o!!

Lazy Days of Summer!

With Ethan traveling all the time we don't get to do too many exciting things so when he does come home we jam pack as many things in as we can, even if its just going to Costco or the mall and walking around. Basically anything that makes it feel like it's just normal and he's not traveling around all the time.

Us at the Orem Owlz game!

You can actually see us without the glasses...Ethan can rock them, but me? Not so much!

This is one adventure that Ethan actually missed out on but it's all I talked about for a week! We had a kitten in our apartment! I don't know the whole story, Marissa found the kitten in out bathroom and when I got home from work I was super confused because pets are definitely not allowed in our apartment, but we kept it for a while! I think our other roommates brother Ty actually put the kitten in our apartment without telling us. He was just so cute! Marissa named him Ziggy and it fit him very well!!

He was soo playful, he rarely cuddled, but when he did it was so cute!
